KANAB, Utah — Canine residents at Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab had a very happy howl-iday when Santa Paws came for a visit.

The annual Santa Sleigh tradition came on a Bronco and a trailer, packed with toys and gifts donated by animal lovers across the country.

First, Santa Paws visited Dogtown Headquarters. There, many tail-wagging dogs chose their toys from a variety of toy piles.

"It's kind of overwhelming, It's like there's too many choices," Judah Battista, Chief Sanctuary Officer at BFAS said. "They love the whole experience, and the attention, and getting a toy to — well, to destroy and play with."

Caregivers at Best Friends Animal Society said the event is really fun for them, too.

The rest of the toys were distributed to hundreds of dogs that are at the sanctuary, waiting to be adopted.

Battista said the best way to help the hundreds of adoptable dogs around the country is to bring one into your home. Other than that, there is ways to be involved and enrich the dogs lives like donating, volunteering at your local shelter, and short term fostering.

Opportunities to help and volunteer are on the Best Friends website.
